Children's Heart Fund of Ethiopia
Healing the Children has an exciting National Project that will benefit thousands of children in Africa for generations to come. All of the Chapters have joined together, along with the Chain of Hope UK and Project Cure, to support the Children’s Heart Fund of Ethiopia in the building and equipping of the first dedicated Pediatric Cardiac Center in the Horn of Africa. The center, with completion expected in 2007, is being built on the premises of the Black Lion Hospital in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and will serve children from throughout that region of Africa. When the center is opened, Healing the Children will continue our longtime relationship with Dr. Belay Abegaz, founder of CHFE, by sending teams of medical professionals to assist in the training and development of Ethiopian medical staff.
